Sheldon Creed Breaks Through at Atlanta, Delivering Haas Factory Team’s First Chevrolet Victory
Hampton, GA (February 21, 2026) – After rewriting the record book with a string of runner-up finishes, Sheldon Creed finally stood in Victory Lane.
Creed captured his first career NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series victory Saturday night in the Bennett Transportation & Logistics 250 at EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta — snapping a record streak of second-place finishes and delivering a milestone win for the Haas Factory Team in its first season competing with Chevrolet.
Driving the No. 00 Haas Factory Team Chevrolet, carrying primary sponsorship from Road Ranger, Creed started fourth and positioned himself inside the top five throughout the 163-lap event on the 1.54-mile high-speed quad-oval. The race featured 24 lead changes among multiple contenders, highlighting just how competitive the field was from start to finish.
On the final lap, a battle for the lead between Austin Hill and Ross Chastain resulted in contact exiting Turn 2. Creed, running third and perfectly positioned, seized the opportunity and powered to the front to take the checkered flag.
The victory ends a frustrating stretch for Creed, who previously held the series record with 15 second-place finishes before earning his first win in the division. The long-awaited breakthrough was both emotional and validating for the 28-year-old Californian.
“This one means a lot,” Creed said in Victory Lane. “We’ve been close so many times. To finally finish it off and get this win for everyone at Haas Factory Team — especially in our first season with Chevrolet — that’s special.”
The win also marks a historic moment for the Haas Factory Team. After switching manufacturers in the offseason from Ford to Chevrolet, Atlanta becomes the organization’s first victory in its new Chevrolet era — an early and emphatic statement that the transition has positioned the team for championship contention.
Creed’s victory vaults him firmly into championship discussion early in the season and sends a clear message that the No. 00 team is no longer the bridesmaid — they are now race winners.
