Sheldon Creed Charges from 16th to Fourth in Phoenix O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Battle

AVONDALE, Ariz. (March 7, 2026) — Sheldon Creed delivered another strong performance Saturday night in the GOVX 200, driving the No. 00 Haas Factory Team Chevrolet with Boulder Crest Foundation on board from a 16th-place starting position to a fourth-place finish at Phoenix Raceway.

After struggling in qualifying earlier in the weekend, Creed and the Haas Factory Team made major gains during the race. The California driver steadily worked his way forward through the field, ultimately leading 20 laps and battling among the leaders during the closing stages of the 200-lap event.

Creed collected additional points during the stage breaks, finishing 9th in Stage 1 and 9th in Stage 2, helping the team maximize the night despite the less-than-ideal starting position.

By the time the final run unfolded, Creed had worked himself firmly into contention with the front-running group, ultimately bringing the No. 00 Chevrolet home in fourth place, marking his third top-five finish in the first four races of the 2026 season.

The result keeps Creed firmly in the championship fight as the series heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway next weekend. However, the new 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series points format is already proving challenging. Despite scoring a victory earlier this season at Atlanta Motor Speedway and posting consistent top-five finishes, Creed currently sits fifth in the championship standings heading into Las Vegas.

The 24th-place finish at Daytona continues to weigh heavily in the standings under the new points system, but the Haas Factory Team, under the leadership of championship crew chief Jonathan Toney, continues to bring fast, competitive Chevrolets to the track each week. With strong equipment and consistent speed, Creed remains confident as the season progresses and is excited to be back behind the wheel of a Chevrolet as the team looks to close the gap in the championship battle.

Creed: “We Fought Our Way Back”

Creed credited the Haas Factory Team for the adjustments that allowed the No. 00 Chevrolet to contend for the win despite the difficult starting spot.

“We didn’t qualify where we wanted to, but the Haas Factory Team guys kept working on the car and we got better all night,” Creed said. “To come from 16th and be battling up front for the win says a lot about this team. Obviously you always want the trophy, but this was a solid recovery and we’ll take the momentum to Vegas.”

Creed’s determination throughout the race once again highlighted the resilience that has made him a consistent contender early in the season.
