Creed Charges to Runner-Up Finish, Wins $100K Dash 4 Cash at Kansas
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (April 19, 2026) — Sheldon Creed delivered one of the most impressive drives of the season Saturday night in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Kansas Speedway, charging from the rear of the field to a second-place finish while capturing the $100,000 Dash 4 Cash bonus.
Creed was slated to start fourth in the No. 00 Road Ranger Chevrolet for Haas Factory Team after qualifying was canceled due to weather. However, a pre-race inspection issue forced the team to drop to the rear before the green flag.
Undeterred, Creed wasted no time carving his way through the field.
By the end of Stage One, he had already climbed to seventh, showcasing the speed in his Chevrolet. He continued his charge in Stage Two, finishing second and positioning himself as a clear contender for the win.
Over the course of the race, Creed led 48 laps and consistently battled at the front, ultimately crossing the line in second after a hard-fought final run.
As it turned out, Creed still had plenty to celebrate.
By finishing as the highest-placing driver among the Dash 4 Cash contenders, he secured the $100,000 bonus — the first of his career in the program. He also recorded the fastest lap of the race, earning an additional bonus point and capping off a near-perfect night in terms of maximizing points.
“It was a great day for us after starting in the back,” said Creed. “I kind of knew right away my car was really fast, and I was able to drive to the front, and I just had a lot of fun today.
“It’s just really cool to be able to bring a hundred grand back to the Haas Factory Team. I definitely wanted to win and add to it, but the 54 did a really good job short-pitting us. He ran a really good last 40 laps there, and got through traffic quick and made it where I never really got close enough.”
With the strong performance, Creed leaves Kansas second in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series point standings, continuing a consistent and impressive 2026 campaign. Through 10 races, he now has five top-five and eight top-10 finishes — making this one of his most complete points days of the season.
