Creed Fights Forward at Dover, Holds Strong in Championship Battle

DOVER, DEL. (May 17, 2026) — Sheldon Creed and the No. 00 Boulder Crest Foundation Chevrolet team showed resilience and determination Saturday afternoon at Dover Motor Speedway, overcoming multiple setbacks to finish 18th in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at the famed Monster Mile.

Driving for Haas Factory Team, Creed rolled off 12th and immediately moved into the top 10 during the opening segment of the race. The veteran driver battled door-to-door with Corey Day for position following an early caution cycle before narrowly missing stage points with a 12th-place finish in Stage One.

The middle portion of the race proved especially challenging for the No. 00 team after contact exiting turn four in Stage Two forced Creed to make two pit stops under caution, dropping him deep in the field for the restart. Restarting 29th, Creed quickly began carving his way back through traffic, advancing to 22nd in only six laps before another caution interrupted the charge.

Despite the adversity, Creed and the Haas Factory Team continued making gains throughout the afternoon. After another stop under caution, the No. 00 Boulder Crest Foundation Chevrolet fought back inside the top 20 and closed Stage Two in 18th.

Creed continued the rally in the final segment, capitalizing on cautions and mistakes ahead to climb as high as 12th before making a scheduled pit stop on Lap 119. Following a restart from 17th, Creed once again pushed forward before ultimately taking the checkered flag in 18th after a hard-fought afternoon at one of NASCAR’s toughest tracks.

The Dover result comes one week after Creed’s impressive nine-race top-10 streak came to an end at Watkins Glen International, further highlighting the consistency the No. 00 team has shown throughout the 2026 campaign. Despite the challenges at Dover, Creed remains second in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series championship standings heading into next weekend’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Known as “The Monster Mile,” Dover Motor Speedway is regarded as one of the most physically demanding tracks in NASCAR due to its high banks, concrete surface, and punishing racing conditions. The one-mile oval has challenged drivers and teams for decades with its combination of speed, tire wear, and relentless rhythm.

Up next for Creed and the Haas Factory Team is the Charbroil 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 23rd.
